GIZ Regional Seminar in Kramatorsk

On December 17, 2018 in Kramatorsk a regional seminar “Energy Efficiency at Enterprises: New Challenges, New Opportunities” was held within the framework of the GIZ project “Consulting Enterprises on Energy Efficiency”.

Oleksandr Klepanda, an expert at the School of Energy Efficiency, shared with the students who represented the manufacturing enterprises of Donetsk region how energy efficiency can affect the cost of production, starting energy modernization, giving examples of quick-pay and low-cost measures, even demonstrating equipment in the short run diagnostics at the enterprise is made. That is, energy-efficient measures do not always require large financial investments. But to be successful, an energy-efficient project requires the interest of the owner / top management of the company and staff who will directly implement energy efficiency measures.

Vyacheslav Lesovyk acquainted the participants of the seminar with sources of financing of energy efficient projects, and Timur Khalilov (representative of the EBRD) spoke in detail about grants and lending programs of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Practical experience of obtaining energy from production waste was shared by the director of the biogas plant “Ecoprod”.

Also, business leaders and representatives of local self-governments listened to the report on the establishment of the Association of Entrepreneurs in the field of energy efficiency and energy saving in Donetsk region and directions of its activity.

We thank the Association of Ukrainian Cities for their assistance in organizing the event and promoting dialogue between businesses and authorities in the field of energy efficiency.
