Professional training for energy managers is an integral part of quality energy management in budgetary institutions

This issue was discussed during the meeting between the chairman of the board of the NGO "School of Energy Efficiency" Vyacheslav Lesovik, the first vice-president of the NGO "Club of Mayors" Alexander Mazurchak with the chairman of the State Energy Efficiency Sergey Savchuk.

“This year energy management became the key issue of cooperation between the State Energy Efficiency Agency and the local government. This is the basis that is necessary for the effective implementation of energy efficiency measures in budgetary institutions and which should not be ignored, ”the Head of the Agency informed and described the plan of measures approved by the Government for the implementation of energy management systems in budgetary institutions.

“In April this year, representatives of local authorities from all regions of the country gathered at the III Energy Efficiency Partnership Forum and signed 36 Memoranda of Understanding on implementation of the energy management system in budget institutions,” the Chairman recalled.

Within the framework of the memorandums of the State Energy Efficiency, regional energy awareness seminars have been launched. Such seminars have already been held in 5 regions with the support of the Representation of the Fund. F. Ebert in Ukraine. More than 1000 people took part in the events.

In their turn, Alexander Mazurchak and Vyacheslav Lisovik shared their experience in training energy managers for cities of Odessa, Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions. The training program is planned to expand to other regions.

Considering the common goals, the parties agreed to join forces and encourage local governments to implement energy management in the budgetary area, providing advice on this. Also, it is planned to work with the local authorities to improve the skills of energy managers.

In addition, under the agreements reached, the list of certified energy managers posted on the Agency’s website will be supplemented by new specialists trained in the School of Energy Efficiency.
