NGO “SEE” conducted trainings on energy management with the support and funding of USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine

Dear friends, colleagues and partners! Currently, the Training Programs for the “Basic Energy Management Training Program for Donetsk, Luhansk and Odessa Oblasts” have been successfully implemented with the support and funding of the USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine.

The five-day trainings in Odessa and Kharkiv were filled with interesting presentations, practical classes, useful discussions.

They were attended by more than 50 heads and energy managers of oblast, rayon and city administrations from at least thirty cities of Odessa, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Students received important information about key aspects and algorithm of municipal energy management system implementation, experience of its development in different cities of Ukraine.

In addition, a large part of the training program was devoted to the technical, regulatory, financial, economic and organizational aspects of energy efficient projects.

The trainees received important advice from leading Ukrainian experts and developed practical skills in attracting funding for public energy efficiency support programs, engagement with international financial institutions and technical assistance projects, selection and financial planning of energy efficiency measures.

An important and, hopefully, useful component of the Basic Energy Management Training Program for Donetsk, Luhansk and Odessa Oblasts is to become an online platform for consulting and supporting further energy managers’ activities, which will be launched in the coming days.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to USAID’s Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine for the partnership and support at all stages of the implementation of the training, and to wish the participants to gain knowledge, skills and experience to help them further building energy efficient cities and communities in Ukraine!
